So, Gwen is the newest L’Oréal girl!
From E Online:
“It’s a match made in makeup heaven.
Gwen Stefani, who rarely goes out without her signature red lips and black eyeliner, has been named the latest face of L’Oréal Paris.
“I can’t believe I get to be one of the L’Oréal Paris girls,” the No Doubt frontwoman said in a statement. “I love playing dress-up, onstage or shooting videos—it’s always been one of my favorite parts of being in a band.”
Gwen joins an A-list group of ladies, including Eva Longoria, Jennifer Lopez and Beyoncé, who rep for the cosmetics brand.
Her TV ads will debut during Sunday’s Golden Globe Awards.”
L’Oréal has posted a few behind the scenes/teaser videos on YouTube:
The band uploaded a 4 second audio teaser!!!! :
The “Beacon Street” house is up for sale!! Seems sort of sad. I wish I could buy it!!

Hello!
Tom posted on the official site yesterday:
“Hello there,
I can see how our tweets might have been less than clear about our songwriting and recording process. We worked (in a little studio) most of last year writing songs. We ‘demo’ them as we write, which is like making rough draft recordings.
At one point we did go into a ‘real’ studio last year (in May I think) to really record some of them for the final album versions.
But we didn’t finish those songs completely in that session. After that we resumed in the writing studio and wrote more tunes during the rest of last year.
Now, starting today, we’re back in a real studio really recording again. Excitedly!
There are two new ND babies coming soon, mine and Tony’s, so there will be a little delay for that. :-)
This process does take us awhile, it always has. Plus life is a little more complicated and busy than it was before we all had kids etc.
So the goal is to write a couple songs more this year and of course finish recording all of them.
We’re really really happy with the new songs and feel this great sense of momentum going into the new year.
Tom”
They also posted some studio photos, so make sure to check them out!
Tom also updated his own blog yesterday with some studio gear photos:
“No Doubt are in the studio for two weeks tracking a couple of new songs for our forthcoming album. A friend of ours named Spike is in the Producer’s chair. I thought it’d be interesting to show you what it looks like, including some of the gear. We’re in this place for 10+ hours a day at the moment, so there’s plenty of downtime to take pictures. Enjoy!”

Hi all! Adrian played with The Vandals on Dec. 18th in Anaheim!
Also, Tom posted about playing at the Kennedy Center Honors on his blog today:
“A couple of weeks ago No Doubt performed at the Kennedy Center Honors in Washington DC. We were asked to be part of the musical tribute to Paul McCartney, who was one of the honorees this year. We performed a four-minute medley of Beatles songs: Hello Goodbye, All My Loving, and Penny Lane. This was a career highlight for us in so many ways. All of us in the band grew up loving Paul’s music, and to perform these songs for Paul himself was mind-blowing to say the least. Not to mention nerve-wracking! And to add to the epicness of it all, this was in the Kennedy Center Opera House, full of folks like President Obama, loads of Senators and Congresspeople and lobbyists and Merle Haggard and Oprah, etc etc. Also I sat next to Florence Henderson at the State Department dinner. She was awesome.
Crazy!
The whole show including our performance will be shown on television on CBS on December 28, 2010 at 9:00-11:00 p.m., ET/PT
Gear: In the spirit of the memory of George Harrison, I had my trusty Hamer Monaco outfitted with a pair of TV Jones Classic pickups, to capture the vibe of an old Gretsch like George used to play. Below is a picture of the guitar, plus the pedalboard my buddy and long-time tech Donnie wired up just for this show. The pedals are: Eventide Timefactor, Malekko Ekko 616, and Boss Chromatic Tuner. I used the Eventide for delays on the Reggae upbeats on “All My Loving” and the Malekko for a slapback vibe on “Hello Goodbye.” And then just straight guitar, no effects used on “Penny Lane.”"

Tom recently updated his blog:
“No Doubt performed at the Bridge School Benefit show last year up in Northern California. Neil Young hosts an eclectic group of artists to raise money for this great charity every year. It was a really important thing for us to be a part of, not to mention a rare and fun all-acoustic set for the band. I kinda dig this live image (below left). I’m playing my new Martin OM-42 KOA.
“Koa” is a tropical hardwood native to Hawaii and prized for it’s beauty (duh) and strength. Check it out.
Gwen and HSN have partnered to create a Harajuku Lovers ornament to benefit St. Jude’s. You can buy it here.
